This weekend (26/27 Mar) marked the highlight of the winter Head season with the Men's and Veteran's Heads of the River Race (HoRR). Monmouth had its strongest entry for many years, entering an Eight into Saturday's HoRR and three Eights in the Vet HoRR.
Both the events are rowed annually in March from Mortlake to Putney on the Tideway in London. Over the two days up to 700 crews of eights take part, making it one of the highest participation events in London. It is rowed over the 4¼ mile Thames Championship Course and is the Boat Race course in reverse.
We had some great results across the board, with both the Vets Men Eight and the Vets Mixed Eight box coming second, with the Vets Women Eight fourth.
