Monmouth Rowing Club recently showcased their talent at the Bewdley Regatta, held on the picturesque River Severn. The event spanned two days, with athletes competing fiercely over an 800m course on Saturday and a shorter 600m sprint course on Sunday.
Despite the slightly cloudy and damp weather on day one, spirits were high, and the competition was intense.
On top of the many wins, the highlight was celebrating many of the squad's first race win. This included Fliss in the Women's Eight, Darren in the Men's Eight, Sue B and Deborah in the Women's Low CRI Four and Jon in the Men's Eight. For Deborah, it was not only her first race, but also her first win - a 100% success rate. It was also Kathryn K's first win for Monmouth.
In the Mixed Quad we also had a Diserens family crew with Jude rowing with her sons Jamie and Sam and her daughter in law Kathryn.
