Rowing Together for a Cause: Monmouth RC’s Incredible Fundraising Efforts
At Monmouth Rowing Club, we pride ourselves on more than just our love for the river—we’re a community that comes together both on and off the water. This year, we chose to support the Alzheimer’s Society as our club charity, and today, we’re thrilled to share the results of your amazing efforts.
Drumroll, please... thanks to your generosity, we raised an incredible £1,428.10! This achievement came from a mix of creativity, camaraderie, and community spirit, with contributions from regatta seat donations, a fantastic quiz night, a preloved sportswear sale, and an inspiring talk by Eric (which we’re still talking about, by the way!).
Lauren from Alzheimer’s Society summed it up beautifully in her message of thanks:
"That is absolutely incredible! Thank you all so much for your hard work and generosity. We at Alzheimer’s Society are so grateful for your support and the donation will make a big difference to people living with dementia and their families. Thank you."
The choice of Alzheimer’s Society was especially meaningful to us, as one of our own club members lives with dementia. This made every penny raised, every stroke rowed, and every quiz answer scribbled down even more significant.
Your support doesn’t just fund vital work—it shows that as a club, we look out for each other and stand together.
So, let’s take a moment to celebrate this achievement. Whether you sold a splash jacket, bought a quiz ticket, or simply cheered us on, you’ve made a difference.
Here’s to another year of rowing, raising funds, and making ripples in more ways than one! Keep an eye out for what’s next—together, there’s no limit to what we can achieve.
Finally, special thanks must go to Sarah C for championing this great cause last year and getting us all engaged.

See you on the water,
